In the first quarter of 2024, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in South America showed diverse performance trends. Here's a closer look at the weekly downloads and active user metrics for these leading apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Uber - Request a ride started Q1 strong with over 520K downloads in the first week of January. Despite some fluctuations, downloads remained robust, peaking again at 540K in early February. Weekly active users for the app saw a gradual increase, starting from 18.4M and reaching around 21.3M by early March, before slightly tapering off to 20.2M by the end of the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced a steady download rate, beginning the quarter at 352K and ending with approximately 285K downloads weekly. Active users for inDrive also showed consistent engagement, starting at 7.9M and peaking at 8.4M in early March, before settling at 7.9M by the end of the quarter.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had a noticeable decline in downloads, starting from 221K in early January and reducing to 159K by late March. However, active users remained relatively stable, hovering around the 2.3M mark throughout the quarter.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides showed a consistent download trend, starting at 142K weekly downloads and ending with 121K. Active user numbers for DiDi Rider increased from 3.1M in early January to a peak of 3.8M in mid-March, before dropping to 3.3M by the end of the quarter.

Yango: taxi, food, delivery demonstrated significant growth in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads surged from 60K in early January to 169K by the end of March. Active users also saw a steady climb, starting at 132K and reaching 319K by the end of the quarter.
